On Saturday 7th December, The Island Free School took part in the Island’s Young Citizen’s Mock Trial competition. Our pupils took on the roles of: prosecuting barristers, defence barristers, ushers, court clerks, witnesses and jury members. Miss Sparrow is enormously proud of the pupils for their hard work, determination and incredible professionalism they demonstrated on the day. The Crown Court judge who was judging the competition praised our pupils for their confident public speaking skills, the witnesses for their thoughtful answers and the barristers’ opening and closing statements.
This was our first time entering the competition and we placed 1st! The pupils were awarded the High Sherrif’s Trophy. Well done!
