What will I learn?
Studying the separate Sciences of Biology, Chemistry and Physics means that you will cover more content and to a greater depth than the GCSE combined Science course. The Triple Science course will provide excellent preparation for AS and A-Level studies. Practical work is an intrinsic part of science and practical skills will continue to be developed throughout this course. There are 8 practicals in each subject that you will carry out and write up during the course. Elements from the designated practicals will be assessed in the written examinations.
How will I be assessed?
Each of the Science disciplines can be examined in either Foundation or Higher tier. There are two examinations for each discipline, each exam is 1 hour 45 minutes long. Each paper will assess knowledge and understanding from different topics to assess you on your scientific ability.
Are there any entry requirements?
No entry requirements, but a good level of numeracy and literacy is essential.
Where could it lead?
Triple Science is essential if you are considering a career connected to Science, medicine, dentistry, veterinary work, engineering.
What would complement this course?
Geology and PE.
