On Thursday afternoon TIFS hosted an U13 Girls 7-a-side mini tournament. The opposition was Dorset House Prep School (Sussex) and Priory School.
TIFS entered three teams who all played the opposition giving each team 2 games each.
The quality of hockey was excellent and the results saw TIFS teams remain undefeated in a fantastic display of teamwork, with goals scored by Bianka A, Rosie N, Megan T, Bailey S, Poppy J, Honor S, Izzi P, Erin H, Millie B and Shanay S.
This puts the U13 girls in confident mood for their trip to Lord Wandsworth College this Saturday to play in their invitational festival, and an away fixture versus Ryde School next Thursday.
TIFS U14 girls also began their fixtures this week with a match against Ryde School on Tuesday afternoon.
Despite the fact it was, for many, their first 11-a-side game on a full size pitch, TIFS started brightly and were soon encamped in the opposition half. Through the 1st short corner of the game, Emmeline B drilled the ball home to give TIFS the lead. TIFS girls were passing the ball around and causing all sorts of problems for the Ryde GK and it wasn’t long before a 2nd short-corner saw Emmeline scoring her second, rifling the ball into the Ryde goal.
The game continued with TIFS creating numerous scoring opportunities and eventually captain, Cleo M, scored a 3rd having swept in a rebound from yet another short corner.
The game finished with a well deserved 3-0 win for TIFS and plenty to look forward to when they travel to Southampton in November for the Hampshire Trophy tournament.
A lovely start to the season with all teams playing some beautiful hockey, well done girls.
