Monday 17th September 2018 saw a ceremony to celebrate how far our school has come since it first opened its doors in September 2014. We have been in our beautiful new building for the past year, and with the 2018 cohort joining us, we are now full. To commemorate this important phase in the school’s development, guests from the Governing Body, the Trust who set up the school, the local council, and the County Press came in to participate in a celebration assembly including a motivational speech to our Year 11 pupils from Lizzy Yarnold, the double Olympic Gold Medallist. Lizzy also spoke to year 9 and year 10 GCSE PE pupils about determination and the merits of hard work.
Whilst the celebrations were taking place in school, groups of parents, pupils and staff participated in a monumental round-the-island relay, with Adam S-B running up the school steps to complete the last leg of the relay just as the bell rang for the end of the day.
