Used as a vehicle to educate our youngsters at a grass roots level about creative thinking and what makes a successful space and place; the Young Designers Award is a design competition run annually for pupils aged 5-18 years old across the Island.
For this years’ competition we decided to look at a slightly different challenge we are exposed to on the Island – our infrastructure.
This year’s brief was received enthusiastically across the Island and the entries were judged by Celia Wilkinson, a local contemporary Artist; Claire Hector, Director of Art-Ecology and Colman Cotter, local RIBA Chartered Architect. The judges were overwhelmed by the imagination and creativity displayed in the designs.
