Inter Schools Show Jumping Competition

Last Friday, 26th April, 3 pupils represented the The Island Free School at the annual Inter schools show jumping competition.

In the KS3 section of the competition Ruby and Tiggy produced two lovely rounds, representing the school in show jumping for the first time. Samantha, an experienced rider on the schools jumping teams in previous years, rode two fantastically determined rounds with new ride Dolly at her first ever show jumping competition.

Ellie and Beauty represented the school in the KS4 section of the competition, producing two beautifully accurate rounds to earn her self a place in the hotly contended jump off. With a particularly strong field of riders with two clear rounds earning their place in the jump off, Ellie did fantastically to take 5th place.

Miss Allman commented ” All our pupils rode fantastically, turned their ponies out beautifully and were a pleasure to have representing the school at the event. With some new horse and rider combinations and some more experienced partnerships our girls work hard throughout the year training with their ponies and had some well deserved results. Very well done to all our riders.”
