This month over 80 Year 9 pupils have successfully completed the expedition phase of their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award.
They had learnt all of the skills they needed including pitching tents, reading maps, using compasses, planning routes and meal planning in the enrichment periods over the year.
The expedition is a culmination of all the pupils’ hard work. They planned and then walked over 20 miles during the weekend with minimal teacher intervention.
Pupils behaved impeccably and their examiners were very impressed with their navigation skills and camp craft. The Duke of Edinburgh team at school are very proud of their achievement and look forward to giving them the full award in the coming months
