“At The Island Free School, we want to inspire you to understand, enjoy and question the world around you, by applying scientific skills and knowledge. Science teachers at TIFS are committed to providing a varied and challenging curriculum at both KS3 and KS4.
Science at KS3 aims to fill gaps in your knowledge as well as build up core scientific inquiry skills. Being able to apply these core skills is important to becoming a fully skilled and active scientist moving into KS4. The two-year KS3 and three-year KS4 curriculums are strongly linked to build on both these important skills and general scientific knowledge.
Science is everywhere and for everyone, so it is important that, at TIFS, your lessons engage you and support you at every level and ability. All lessons are tailored to every single pupil with a range of activities to enable all to progress and achieve.
The Science department’s main goal is to inspire future scientists as well as instill a respect for the sciences in all pupils.”
